EW Howell Construction Group attended the 2025 AGC NYS Construction Industry Conference, networking and participating in seminars focused on the importance of safety in construction.

John Masciopinto, Safety Director at EW Howell, as well as Dan McAree, QAQC Coordinator, and Bryan Flores, Quality Coordinator, were present to accept this year’s AGC NYS Safety Excellence Award. Our commitment to safety is second to none as we continue to foster this culture across our job sites and at every level of our organization.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Associated General Contractors of New York State for honoring us with this award and for allowing us to attend this insightful conference.

EW Howell Honored at Bella Notte 2025

We at EW Howell Construction Group proudly supported Elizabeth Seton Children’s Bella Notte this past Thursday.

This gala raised funds in support of the upcoming Young Adult Center, which will provide care for young adults with complex medical needs. Additionally, we were honored to receive the Champion for Children Award, which was accepted by our team members in attendance.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Elizabeth Seton Children’s for honoring us at this year’s Bella Notte, and we look forward to seeing the continued progress of the Young Adult Center.

EW Howell Participates in Women Build 2025

Last week, many of our women employees rolled up their sleeves to take part in this year’s Women Build for Habitat for Humanity event! Hosted by Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE), Women Build brings together volunteers to help create stronger, safer communities. This year, our employees worked on 2 homes, one of which is nearly ready for occupancy. We extend our thanks to WCOE and Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity to be part of this difference-making event. We’d also like to recognize the women of EW Howell who participated:

Megan Zahnow Honored in WBC 2024 Next Generation of Women Builders

She officially received this honor at the WBC’s 20th Anniversary Champion Awards Gala held on Thursday, October 17. This honor highlights the importance of diversity and the growing influence of women in the construction industry. We would like to thank the WBC for including us in this memorable event. Additionally, we congratulate Megan on this remarkable achievement and look forward to her continued growth and success within our organization.

EW Howell Attends Bronx Animal Care Center Topping Out Ceremony

On August 15, the Bronx Animal Care Center & Veterinary Clinic project site in Bronx, NY, marked a major milestone with a topping out ceremony. The event brought together representatives from EW Howell Construction Group, trade contractors, and key stakeholders from the NYC Department of Design and Construction, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and Animal Care Centers of NYC. The highlight was the signing and installation of the topping steel beam, followed by a celebratory onsite luncheon.

A big thank you to all team members, trade contractors, and owners for their valuable contributions to this ongoing project.

EW Howell Attends Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Far Rockaway Library

On July 30, the Far Rockaway Library in Queens, NY, celebrated a milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. EW Howell Construction Group, the library’s General Contractor, and the NYC Department of Design and Construction were part of this significant moment, showcasing a commitment to the project alongside Queens Library, dignitaries, and the community.

The new Far Rockaway Library offers various amenities, including a circulation and information center, meeting rooms, a business center, and dedicated sections for children, teens, and adults. Noteworthy for its architectural design by Snøhetta, the library’s façade boasts a unique parallelogram curtainwall system with intricate color gradient fritted glass. In April, the project earned LEED Silver certification, recognizing its sustainable construction practices.

Attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony was truly exciting. We look forward to the positive impact the Far Rockaway Library will have on the community and are eager for the opportunities this space will bring to enrich the lives of many.

Huntington Shopping Center Awarded Top Retail Redevelopment – Suffolk

EW Howell Construction Group was honored for its excellence in the Top Retail Redevelopment—Suffolk category, specifically for its pivotal role in the Huntington Shopping Center project’s success at the Long Island Business News 2024 Real Estate, Architecture & Engineering Awards event.

This project saw a 222,600-square-foot retail renovation and new construction, including enhancements and repairs to the existing parking lot and installation of benches and public seating. In addition to a new Whole Foods Market, tenants at the shopping center include PetSmart, Ulta Beauty, and Michaels. Pad sites at the shopping center will make way for potential construction for new tenants.

Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE) recently hosted their Women Build for Habitat for Humanity event, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been a part of it! EW Howell Attends Jones Beach Topping Out Ceremony

On February 29, EW Howell Construction Group attended a topping-off ceremony at the Jones Beach Theater project site in Wantagh, New York.

Howell personnel, trade contractors, and owner representatives from Live Nation and NYS Parks were on hand to sign and witness the placing of the topping steel beam. Additionally, attendees enjoyed networking and lunch catered on-site.

We want to thank our project team, trade contractors, and owners for their ongoing efforts, collaboration, and continued construction progress.

Tracey L. Hunter Joins WCOE Metro New York Board

On December 5, WCOE Metro New York held its annual holiday party at The Muttontown Club in East Norwich.

This event, which included networking and raffle prizes, featured New Board Installation and Honoree Awards. Among the new board members installed was Tracey L. Hunter, Project Manager at EW Howell Construction Group. Many EW Howell personnel were in attendance, supporting Tracey’s installation to the board. As a charter member of WCOE, EW Howell was proud to attend and sponsor the event.

We recognize the organization’s ongoing commitment to women in the construction industry and extend our congratulations and continued support to Tracey and WCOE.
